VAUGEOIS: Injured workers deserve stability and dignity

QUEEN’S PARK - NDP Shadow Minister for Seniors and Accessibility, with responsibility for WSIB and Injured Workers, MPP Lise Vaugeois (Thunder Bay – Superior North) stood in the Legislature to speak on the dangers of Bill 105:

“This government is trying to dress up Bill 105 as support for injured workers, but buried inside is a dangerous attack on workers with permanent injuries. After years of handing billions in savings and rebates to employers, they are now removing the 72-month lock-in protection that gave injured workers some financial certainty. That means workers living with permanent, life-altering injuries could face endless reviews, constant surveillance, and the ongoing threat of having their benefits clawed back decades later. Injured workers deserve stability and dignity. Instead, this government only gives them a system that treats them like liabilities to be monitored for the rest of their lives.”
