NDP MPP Rakocevic welcomes free first ride announcement on Finch West LRT

QUEEN’S PARK — Ontario NDP MPP Tom Rakocevic welcomes the free first ride announcement for the Finch West LRT opening day. Yesterday, Rakocevic called on the Minister of Transportation to make the LRT free on opening day, as a gesture of good will for the constituents of his riding:

“This is exciting news for our community,” said Rakocevic. “The Finch West LRT opening is a big moment for our city, and for our neighbours along Finch. I’m glad that the TTC, City of Toronto and the Ford government were able to come to an agreement and answer our calls to give back to the community.”

“I’m relieved to hear that the communities and businesses along Finch will have their patience rewarded. It’s been a long and difficult process for the people impacted by the construction of this line, and this is a meaningful way to thank them.”

MPP Rakocevic and the Ontario NDP will continue fighting for public transit that Ontarians can rely on.
