Marit Stiles' Ontario NDP closes 2025 with more donors than Doug Ford's Conservatives and the Ontario Liberals combined — for the second year running

TORONTO – Marit Stiles' Ontario New Democratic Party raised a record-breaking $7.9 million in 2025 from 106,000 contributions, cementing its position as the party with the largest donor base in Ontario.

For the second consecutive year, the Ontario NDP has more individual donors than Doug Ford's Progressive Conservatives and the Ontario Liberals combined, according to Elections Ontario data. Nearly 80 percent of contributions were under $100, reflecting a broad base of support from working people across the province.

December 2025 was the strongest December in the history of the party, raising a total of $1.35 million across all fundraising channels. This marked the first time in party history that end-of-year fundraising grew in the first December following a general election, reversing a long-standing pattern of 30–40 percent post-election decline.

“The Ontario NDP is the party of working people, and that's who we answer to," said Janelle Brady, President of the Ontario NDP. "Under Marit Stiles' leadership, we've raised $8.5 million online in three years – almost 20 percent more than the party raised online in the previous decade combined. That growth didn't happen by accident. It happened because people believe in Marit Stiles and the Ontario NDP and they're willing to invest in change.”

Since Marit Stiles became Leader of the Ontario NDP and Leader of the Official Opposition in February 2023, the party has raised $18.5 million—an unprecedented pace of growth driven by 312,096 contributions averaging $59 each.

“After decades of going back and forth between Conservative and Liberal governments in Ontario, life has gotten less affordable and harder for working people," said Stiles. “When I see these numbers, what I really see is hundreds of thousands of people who are ready for change. They're stepping up because they believe Ontario can do better—and they're right. I’m going to keep working to earn that trust.”

The Ontario NDP enters 2026 focused on making life more affordable for working people, holding Doug Ford accountable for his corruption, and building the operation needed to win the next election and form government.
